I think there is something about creating work for the sake of the work without worrying about outside accolades, etc, too. I try to channel Emily Dickinson a lot, when I can. I really admire that she just sat in her room and wrote, not putting her work out. I still have too much of my ego in my work to do that, I think.
Also, uh, my house is small and my husband would start throwing stuff out, lol.
