The thing is, in English, if it were to be pronounced the way Linus wants it pronounced, then it should be spelt "Linnux". Same with "Nokkia".
Interestingly, I've always pronounced Nokia the way the creators want it pronounced, but I've only recently started pronouncing Linux the correct way (and I still get it wrong sometimes and I have to force myself to remember).
Remember, though, that both of those are non-English names, so we shouldn't be imposing English pronunciation "rules" on them.
