Une (Marriage of Golden Conquerors Arc) (npub1ec3…8gp3) John Paul Grips (npub175d…wrtj) Cave was for a long time the biggest (and genre defining) developer of bullet hell games in arcades, and Qute is a small indie dev company that publishes the games made by M-KAI. Cave games can have complicated systems but the core gameplay loop is relatively traditional for lack of a better word, while M-KAI's stuff is dead simple and focuses on flow at the expense of everything else. I'm not sure what my first Cave recommendation would be for a beginner, but Eschatos is easily the best Qute game and you can't really go wrong with it especially if you already have some shmup experience going in.
