It's basically an offshoot of Christianity that believes the teachings of Jesus were
1. Esoteric in nature
2. That the acquisition of knowledge was the key to salvation
3. Salvation was a tiered system
Basically, and I'm being really generic here so if some asshole wants to fight me, go away, they think that you need to divine the secrets for your salvation.
They also believe that there are two Gods, and evil OT god, and then the good Jesus God, but I can't say for 100% that this is a universal characteristic of Gnosticism.
So it's really like a NT cult around understanding esoteric knowledge.
