Black metal is a very personal affair. You listen to it yourself, you feel the depth and beauty yourself. It's subtle, honest, not so easy to share.
But atmospheric black metal bands have stayed with me over many years now. One of them, Winterfylleth from the UK, just released a new album 'The Imperious Horizon' - how ominous 😄
Songs like 'Dishonour Enthroned' make your forearm hair stand up nicely. They also explore different ways such as in 'Silent Grace'. One may say it's dark, yet powerful and optimistic.

An unpretentious band that won over my heart completely when they also released a beautiful full on clean folk album 'The Hallowing of Heirdom' in 2018.
