With the most recent Starship explosion, perhaps it is instructive to keep in mind what this SpaceX spacecraft is contracted by NASA to do.

The plan is to launch a Starship into Earth orbit, where it will be refueled by a dozen more Starship tanker launches before flying to the moon. There, it will rendezvous with a crewed NASA Orion spacecraft. Two astronauts will transfer to the Starship which will then land on the moon and stay for several days. It will then return the crew to Orion.
