The issue with this policy isn’t “categorising”. It’s children being put through life-changing medical procedures, and their parents and therapists being criminalised if they say “maybe you should wait”. If a child is too young to consent to a tattoo, or to have sex, or to drink alcohol, how can she consent to a permanent loss of sexual function or fertility?
