My Ryobi electric lawnmower doesn't cut quite as well as 2/4 stroke ones I have had in the past. But it is a lot nicer and easier to use, without stinking exhaust, petrol to spill or spark plugs to clean.
They banned the sale of small 2 stroke engines here a while back.
Our surf lifesaving rescue boats have a exemption as 4 stroke engines just don't perform in what we need, expensive to repair if rolled over and injests water, and heavy. Electric motors would be ideal in theory, just not commerically ready for our niche market.
