I love #RSS feeds.
You can subscribe to them using the client of your choice; you're not locked into using the same system that provides them (e.g. subscribing to a #YouTube channel using #Thunderbird).
They're private; the person you're subscribing to doesn't know you're subscribed (so you can unsubscribe at any time and not worry about hurting their feelings).
