I think the reason it’s “cringe” to be vulnerable, or to pursue people for friendship, or to ask to be heard is because *all* of us are lonely on a profound level (spoiler alert, it’s capitalism again!) but most of us are still too embarrassed by that fact to proactively address it. Especially via our most ubiquitous form of socializing (psychologically isolating digital platforms). Let’s all just have a low key weekly mixer and be nice. 🤷
