There has been a lot of end-of-year chatter among Investors about trillion dollar market caps (e.g. NVDA, AAPL, ...), and Elon Musk possibly becoming the first trillionaire.
But how to understand how much is a trillion actually is? Here's one way to think about about it:
- One billion seconds is about 32 years, since (1 x 10^9)/(60*60*24*365) = 31.71 years ≈ 32 years.
- One trillion seconds is about 32,000 years.
