I sincerely do not get the fan outrage at Southgate. I feel disappointed. For me, he deserves more credit than outrage. Mostly feel sorry for him, because he's taken a dysfunctional England to a team that is always getting to the latter stages of tournaments and is routinely ranked among the world's top 5. He's an "almost" manager like Poch. Hopefully, whoever comes next will build on what he's done for the culture, and not sweep it all away.
