A "doll" is a tiny artificial person, whether male or female. Predates TW -- the movie Guys and Dolls was released in the 1950's, but that based on Damon Runyon stories published in the 1930's.
Feminism rejected it, which is why TW picked it up as a shiny object to be emulated.
You can hope, but I don't think it's there.
