Elon Musk did not build a tesla in a vacuum, that technology was built on the efforts of hundreds of other inventions, over decades or centuries. Society has a claim to those contributions. The model for profit allocation is in need of rebalancing. The same idea holds for much of our modern technology, they invented nothing, their were built on other idea. Show me an original idea or concept not built on others efforts.
