for me it's the weather. i live in los angeles now and having nice sunny days constantly year-round, it just changes your brain i think. knowing that every morning when you wake up and your feet hit the floor, that it's going to be gorgeous out. you always have that going for you.
and on the rare occasions when it's stormy, it's on the news for three days leading up to it and it's sort of exciting, a refreshing change from all the "sunny, high of 78" crap :D
