NVDA users take note: There is a version of the beloved synthesizer that shall not be named floating around as an addon, and it has a broken speech queuing function. This results in various things not reading as they should. One good example is combo boxes: NVDA will read the name of the combo box, but not the value of it. Another example is the text generated by some applications, including games and MUD clients. Basically, any text that is not meant to interrupt the text before it will likely be ignored by the synthesizer.
If your NVDA is not reading things that it should, switch your synthesizer to ESpeak or OneCore and try again. If you have any further questions about this, feel free to mention/message me.
