I love proverbs & I find them fascinating. I wonder at times how they came about & how some can be perceived as current even though they are ancient. They’re useful when you want to reinforce a message or infuse wisdom.
They’re difficult to trace to specific location or person as they are usually very old, some several thousand years old. The oldest known collection of proverbs is found on 4,000-year-old Sumerian clay tablets.
