#WordWeavers Apr5. What’s the most important thing about world-building for you?
I used to think consistency but if fanfcition taught me anything it's that readers always think you got that wrong*.
Right now it's the far murkier category "attraction", as in: why should anybody bother with your world**, what about it makes it worth exploring?
*and I can't always fault them
**historical fiction, and the author's reading of a part of the past, is absolutely included.
