I used to believe that, in the extreme, humans dying by the billions among the multitude of ways we’ve manufactured and facilitated, might snap the survivors into a new mindset geared for unity and progress.

I believe now that it’s all just prelude to a final few, wearing survival suits and pushing piles of useless cash back and forth at each other while they wait to be the last, and clearly victorious, victims of our own undoing.
