Practicing News Journalists must ethically refrain from becoming political propagandists. Our principle responsibility is to discover the truth, I as an Investigative News Journalist must find reliable confirmed and verifiable sources of exculpatory or inculpatory prima facie evidentiary data and information in question in order to report on any given important news issue(s) that possibly and potentially affects my readers.
I cannot base my reporting on unverified argumentative and speculative hearsay even if that hearsay is later proven to be accurate and correct. Investigative News Journalists are detectives, we employ and use similar investigative techniques as police and lawyers.
You are asking Journalists to stop practicing Journalism and become political propagandists. I doubt if any ethical journalist would want to destroy his/her reputation by broadcasting and disseminating unconfirmed and unverified news reports.
