Not sure, though I've seen people talk about relays and different apps for different uses including a open source android nostr client (npub1nz6…0w5y), Iris (npub1wnw…95l8) and damus (npub18m7…q955).
I didn't want to get too specific as it does appear the Chinese government understands relays/apps and takes them down.
