I really like the idea. I initially wanted to point out, that other people have done power via XLR before and found out that there are limitations (like accidentally frying expensive stage hardware). That's why Neutrik PowerCon was invented. But if there are microcontrollers involved anyway, it should be possible to detect these kinds of mistakes before pulling up the voltage.
