I need to look into this topic deeper. Terry Gilliam is also one of my biggest "cinematic loves" (sorry, I think this is incorrect stylistically in english but cant find better expression now). I always thought what a unique creator he is - being one of Monty Python's founders,, so having these close links and sensitivity for comedy, broadly speaking. And at the same time be able to see tragedy in human condition, and create profound and moving films. And these two elements ' comedy and tragedy - are veryboften interlinked in his films.
