Learning about bids in Gottman training. (Bids are remarks to a partner to get a response. Any positive response is good, with long-time married couples responding to a partner's bid 86% of the time versus only 33% among divorcing couples.)
New learning: If you increase responses to bids in a couple, the couple starts using humor more. (It's actually causal; rare in psych research!)
I just let a partner know that because I frequently respond to their bids, I MAKE THEM FUNNIER. 🤣 😂
