- that believers are called to new obedience, yet this obedience is a fruit and evidence of saving faith, not the basis of our remaining in God’s love;
- that God’s moral law remains relevant, but it does not function as a new “means of staying saved”; and
- that God’s steadfast love toward His own in Christ is ultimately unconditional because it is rooted in His electing grace and Christ’s atoning work, not human merit
