Seems like serendipity that I randomly spotted this article. It's hard to put into words how this show does what it does so well, but this sheds some light.
It can live on the scale of Nora saying, “There’s a particle physicist who created the machine that sent me to this other dimension.” But the show really exists on somebody saying, “If that’s what you need to believe to be in my life, I’ll believe it with you.”
