Apple added the Freeform app to the iPad, and I didn't think much about it; however after using it with the Apple Pencil, it's a game changer for writing. Stacks of notes sit in my office and together measure about the height of a hobbit. They're notes for my series, but they're not the best way to go back and check on a thought.
Using the Apple Pencil with Freeform lets authors take notes by hand, but have an infinitely big desktop to put them on. I can dedicate whole sections to character, setting, scenes, etc. and just scroll over when I need to refer back to something.
Never thought I'd get an Apple Pencil, but it's been such a great tool for brainstorming and notes. The first generation version is what works with my iPad.
