I think that part of the issue here is that nostr is not Reddit, GitHub, X, Discord, etc. Nostr can implement these patterns, yes, but they're already implemented elsewhere. Working to imitate the current "social media experience", even tying it in with zaps and Bitcoin, is not going to sway a lot of people because the "social media experience" is more oriented around entertainment than it is real social interaction.
Nostr protocol is incredible and I'm very grateful for the effort that has been done so far. It is embedded into the foundation of my work and I think I could probably do a bit of writing on why people should care about signed data, if that would be helpful. I just hope people appreciate the protocol for its simplicity rather than its complexity.
