I used to look at GNU’s old web design, or lack thereof, and think they were insane to not make prettier pages. Then I grew up, and realized that all that shiny chrome was usually a distraction from the absence of useful content - the more flash, the less substance. Nowadays I would honestly prefer a web that was all human curated text, using proper tags that I can style to my own preference.
