I admire your openness to question. The difference is merely my own bias. Your more than likely 100% correct. BTC is the one and only. Will there be something that evolves from it? I believe there has. POW is definitely the standard but in my perspective a POS system has advantages and a strong use case in everyday life. One chain comes to mind for me. Been running clean since 2017 and it's creator's have backed off to allow it to be it's own.
