According to the state-owned company, the oil extracted from an exploratory well in the Aram block is of 'excellent quality and free of contaminants'. The well is at a depth of 1,952 meters of water and is located 248 kilometers from the city of Santos. Laboratory analyses will be performed to characterize the conditions of the reservoirs and fluids found to evaluate the potential of the area. Additionally, two more wells will be drilled. The consortium that has been exploring the Aram block since 2020, with Petrobras as the operator, holding 80% of the project, and CNPC as the partner, holding the remaining 20%, has until 2027 to complete its Discovery Evaluation Plan. Aram is being explored under a sharing regime, with Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) as the manager.
