One of the recent writing game questions was should a books copy be changed if outdated or racist.
Outdated - Yes - translated into modern English (or reader's language) copies should be available. Shakespeare is a good example. Few people could read ancient Babylonian. Also, a note should be added at the front to mention which version, if multiple conflicting versions of a language are in common use. Such as words that are a slur in the US might have an opposite meaning in Australia.
