It's different when you're working for yourself, easier to justify the slow destruction of your own life. But working for others in adverse conditions and crushing personal circumstances — I've done all I can for other people, and I don't know what I am doing it for any more. How much longer, how much more? (And I suspect there is zero appreciation for what I have done for others anyway, so all in all its been a fool's errand.)
