#GameDev Well, I *was* going to praise Nintendo for moving gaming forward with #TotK . Instead, by filing all these patents, they'll be holding gaming back.
I actually agree that a couple aspects of their build system seem novel enough to warrant a patent. (I mean, as far as I know; I don't know what prior art is out there.)
But a patent for showing fast travel departure and arrival locations on a loading screen? Really?
