I get this. My reply would be that fascists and their enablers are more readily neutralized when they are defeated directly. Applying/expecting legal remedies (even when valid/justified) also has the effect of energizing their claims that the system has been rigged/weaponized against them.
But I understand your indignation. It’s sad that we have arrived here and that the fealty and cowardice of so many “elites” contributed to the crisis.
