I know a crown lease of old growth forest (ya, a grazing lease where there’s no grass…) where the leaseholder sent in a bulldozer to create a bunch of cutlines, and destroying the integrity of that forest patch. They aren’t allowed to do that as they don’t own the land. No penalty and they still have the lease.

Crown grazing leases in the Alberta Petrostate are just bribes for conservative/petro votes.
