#DepecheMode is a British electronic music band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The original lineup consisted of Dave Gahan (vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards). Clarke left after their debut album in 1981, and Alan Wilder joined as a full member in 1982.
Their single "People Are People" was released on March 12, 1984, as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Some Great Reward. Musically, "People Are People" blends catchy pop sensibilities with an industrial edge, featuring sampled sounds like clanging metal and a driving synth rhythm. A rare hard to find vinyl 12 is featured here pressed on colored or marbled vinyl in limited editions.
The Adrian Sherwood remix of Depeche Mode's "People Are People" is a notable reworking of the original track, released as part of a special edition titled "People Are People (ON-USound Remix by Adrian Sherwood)" in 1984.
