I completely misread Dan's post the first time. He was talking about deriving the differential equation for the ℘-function. I was talking about using that differential equation to show (℘,℘') maps ℂ/Λ to some elliptic curve E, and then using a general result to conclude (℘,℘'): ℂ/Λ → E is a group homomorphism.

Part of the problem is that when I see computer code my eyes immediately glaze over. It's sort of like when adults talk in a Peanuts movie: we just hear some meaningless mumbles.
