"content": "A longer cable with different characteristics *can* in theory result in a change in the sound for the remote (right) speaker (due to different resistance, which can combine with voice coil impedance to produce frequency-dependent effects), but how much I can't say. Probably not much in practice.\n\nI do have a pair I run with a home-built longer cable and it's fine though. If you do that, just make sure you use nice and beefy 4-pole speaker cable to minimize the effect of the extra length.",
