I used to have said paranoia when I was younger. It later disappeared after I lived in countries where smoking weed is either legal or tolerated. This made me believe that the paranoia is tied to the believe that you're doing something you shouldn't do so you decide to not go out when you're stoned cause "everyone can see it, OMG". I don't have that any more though smoking weed in Germany is still not the same as it is, for example in Spain. It kicks differently here.
