To your original question about verifying the gold backing BRICS, there likely will be none. Same notion as “Full faith and credit” that our gov states when it comes to Treasuries and their ability to repay them (they can of course, just making a point).
While I think in theory a gold-backed BRICS currency is a great idea, I don’t trust it whatsoever. I trust Tether the stablecoin (backed over 1:1 with audited Treasury holdings) than I do BRICS, which says a lot.
