I'm glad that someone articulated the thoughts I wrote a couple of weeks ago here

The biggest cancer of our industry in the age of large ML models is the "I can scrape the Web because my dick is big, but don't you even dare to scrape me or I'll take you to court" mentality.
We need to make it clear that we don't want to stop Microsoft, Meta or Google from scraping the Web: we just want to have the same rights as them.
The Web without the right to scrape is just a bunch of isolated silos with no real utility. Scraping is what makes the Web actually useful. It's what reduces entry barriers and guarantees healthy competition. It's what ensures that information can easily flow between different domains, and allows us to build a network of knowledge that is actually bigger than the sum of its parts.
If you're a big company that feels entitled to build a monopoly over scraping, while preventing others from scraping you, then you deserve to die, period.
