feels like this month we’ve run the gamut of various failure modes of free software and open source software in a world where the person maintaining it has to keep a roof over their head and feed their kids.
Without FLOSS I suspect that technology would not be that much different today from how it was in 1998. The efficiencies it has enabled have underpinned the revolution from web 2.0 onwards, but at this point a lot of infra free software looks more like working for google for free
