The invention of computers and the internet has made digital media creation and dissemination easier and cheaper than ever before. This has led to an explosion of written, video, and audio media, as anyone with a computer and an internet connection can become a creator.
However, the economics of this new digital media economy are proving to be a little weird for the creators. For the most part, they are required to give their content away, almost for free.
