This is also why, if you're a white person who's had to endure hardship without the privilege of turning it off and that experience has changed you, you find yourself in a completely different reality from most of your white peers. It's also what radicalises you. Some of you, I think, will understand what I'm talking about.
So, let's not centre white people and white people's pain, but let's acknowledge this.
