Earlier this week House, our black cat, suddenly was unable to walk. Although he was not in pain and eating well, after working with the vet on a miracle, we realized that he was never going to be independent and able to be mobile again. We’d been by his sides nonstop for the past 4 days, sleeping on the couch and taking him to the litter box waiting for the medicine to have the intended effect. His quality of life was no longer what is best for him. He was an adventure man. Unfortunately yesterday we said goodbye to him.

He was our best boy. He turned 18 last Sat. He was never in physical pain or suffering which made the decision that much harder.

We are absolutely devastated. Life is being lived through a grey haze of grief. I’m told this is the down side of loving fiercely.

House had an amazingly life. He was loved with an intensity of a 1000 suns. He was my good boy and I’ll never be the same again.

I’ve got to pulll myself together to take care of KitKat. He’s the white cat always trying to help me paint.
