I'm a bit pissed off at mom. During an online meeting yesterday with a newly discovered relative, she mentioned my dead name to him. For those who don't know, a "dead name" is the name that was given to a transgender person when they were born. I told her she shouldn't be doing that, and she blew it off and said it doesn't matter because he's family. No, Mom, it does matter. You don't tell anyone my old name, I don't care who it is! I don't care if they are family, a friend, an ally, or anyone, you do not tell anyone my old name no matter who they are!!! You could have put me in serious danger by mentioning my old name!
