if you're wondering where all this investment in AI goes, my brother has a friend who works for an "enclosure" manufacturer in IL. they essentially make big boxes for backup generators. these boxes cost like $500k a pop, and they have orders for dozens and dozens of them and can barely keep up. i would imagine at least some of them are for data centers.
