I heard this in a #ccc talk recently, and have yet to come up with a use case where Excel would actually be the way to go.
There are use cases for spreadsheets, of course. But for spreadsheets in Excel which seems to be the norm and the source of most of the frustration with spreadsheets? I don't think so.
