FG, Lagos should be on same page on waterways – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged both the Federal and state governments to be on the same page on waterways. He assured that the Lagos State Government would continue to improve and enhance its working relationship with the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development was set up to put in place the right and needed infrastructure around waterways in the state. Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the state government's achievements in the Blue Economy and water transportation, including the introduction of electric boats and the launch of 15 new ferry boats. He also mentioned ongoing projects such as the Lagos-Marina Inter-Change and the Omi-Eko Water Project. Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transportation and Blue Economy, called for collaboration between the Federal Government and the Lagos State Government to drive social economy and commercial activities on waterways.
